The Jordan 17 All-Star Lightning 2002 Release
While the Air Jordan 16 embraced the dichotomy of Michael Jordan, the then-retired player and businessman, the Air Jordan 17 was the first shoe designed for him since his return to the NBA.
Michael Jordan may not have been the same fiery young player he once was, but he was far from washed-up. In reality, his skill set and abilities had aged gracefully. During his career, MJ had developed an arsenal of moves and a high basketball IQ that deemed him one of the greatest improvers on the court.
The aim of the Air Jordan 17 was to fully represent where Jordan was in his career and life as a seasoned basketball player and living future-Hall-of-Famer.

Jordan 17 OG Low All Star - Lightning 2002
In 2002, Michael Jordan played his last NBA All-Star game. The legendary basketball star wore these black, white, and yellow Jordans to commemorate the occasion. Several unique features make these sneakers stand out. On the base of the heel, you'll find a chrome strip with "Jordan" stamped into the accent. The outer lower ankle also features a somewhat fuzzy Jumpman logo, giving the impression of rapid, blurred movement. The Air Jordan 17 low-cut fit also includes a black dynamic fit sleeve to add to the overall athletic design. Both the shoe's upper and its toe box feature white leather with lightning yellow midsoles. The front portion of the outer sole is primarily black with a small yellow accent at the base of the toe box. Finally, the design utilizes chrome accents along the eyelets for a polished look.
