Oral-B Replacement Toothbrush Heads

When your Oral-B electric toothbrush needs a replacement head, there are a number of options available to you. A few of these include the Oral-B 3D White, Oral-B FlossAction MicroPulse, and the Oral-B CrossAction replacement heads. Which one you should get depends on what kind of toothbrush you have.

What features do Oral-B electric toothbrushes have?

Some models feature a pressure sensor to let you know when you're brushing too hard, and an in-handle timer that pulses every 30 seconds to signal when it's time to move to a different part of your mouth. Other electric toothbrush models can feature up to six action modes: Daily Clean, Gum Care, Sensitive, Whitening, Pro-Clean, and Tongue Cleaning.

How long do Oral-B Brush heads last?

You should replace your toothbrush head about every three to four months. You may need to change your brush head sooner if the bristles are frayed. Regardless of what type of toothbrush you use, when bristles become frayed and worn, they may lose their effectiveness. Some toothbrush heads change color or fade to indicate when it is time to change them.

What's the difference between brush head types?

Apart from their names, each of Oral-B's replacement brush heads have several qualities that set them apart from one another. Some have long bristles, and others have a unique shape, for instance. Here are a few examples:

  • Oral-B FlossAction MicroPulse - These brush heads feature long bristles.
  • 3D White These heads feature a small, pink polishing cup in the center for whitening teeth.
  • Sensitive Clean - These heads have soft bristles. These are designed for sensitive teeth or gums.
  • CrossAction - These brush bristles are shaped at an angle.
  • Ortho Care These heads are specially shaped to brush around braces. This doughnut-like shape can help to prevent the bristles getting caught on a tooth.
