ECHO Chainsaws Can Get the Job Done

Larger engines yield more power, but it's important to consider what type of work you have planned. It makes sense to get an ECHO chainsaw that fits your needs so that you can get the most out of your purchase. Engine sizes are measured in cubic centimeters (cc), and the general ranges are:

• 25 to 40 cubic centimeters: A smaller engine is ideal for small clean-up projects or occasional pruning. Models that have smaller engines include the ECHO CS-271T and CS-310, both of which are inexpensive machines.

Another factor to think about is the bar length of a new or used ECHO chainsaw. With a shorter bar length, you'll have more maneuverability and will have an easier time transporting your chainsaw. Some of the smaller, cheaper ECHO chainsaws come with 12- or 14-inch bars. With a longer bar length, you'll be able to cut through thicker trees. If you've built up your skills and endurance with the chainsaw, you should be able to handle the increased vibration and weight that a longer bar comes with. Advanced models, like the CS-680 or CS-800P, can come with 24-, 27-, 32-, or 36-inch bars. If you think you'll need something in the middle range, check out the models with 18- or 20-inch bars.
